Being born on a farm in Richland County, WI, I had the chance to experience relationships with farm animals. I had noticed that all animals share personalities and dispositions just like people. They are kind, gentle, funny, stern or naughty. This can be seen through their eyes. My dad always told me that I had a special feeling with the animals.
I taught in the DeForest School district for 37 years but always knew I was interested in being more creative by nature. Upon retiring my dear friend Ann, talked me into trying watercolor painting and talked me into taking a class. I tried flowers, landscapes, and objects but there was no joy there. One day I thought about animals and found my niche. I enjoyed it so much that that is about all I do. I concentrate on the faces and the eyes, mostly to bring the character of the animal to life. I have enjoyed doing these and hope you enjoy looking at them as much.
